Virgil van Dijk Linked With Surprise Exit From Liverpool
Liverpool could face another major setback this summer as club captain Virgil van Dijk has reportedly attracted interest from Turkish champions Galatasaray.
The Reds have already seen several key players leave following the end of the 2025/26 season, including Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate. Now, reports from Turkey suggest Galatasaray are considering a move for the experienced Dutch defender.
According to journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, the Turkish side is expected to make an official approach after the summer transfer window opens on June 15. Van Dijk is said to be among Galatasaray’s top transfer targets as they look to strengthen their squad.
Despite the speculation, a move appears unlikely at this stage. Van Dijk remains a vital figure for Liverpool and is currently focused on leading the Netherlands at the FIFA World Cup.
With Konate’s departure leaving Liverpool short of experienced centre-backs, the club is also exploring defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season.
