Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes is reportedly close to leaving Anfield for a new role at Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.
According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Hughes is “one step away” from agreeing a three-year contract with the Saudi club. Reports linking him with Al Hilal have circulated for months, although earlier claims suggested he would remain at Liverpool.
Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport has now also backed the story, adding more weight to the speculation surrounding Hughes’ future.
If the move happens, Liverpool could soon begin searching for a new sporting director ahead of a crucial transfer window.
